The property is set in a fantastic location, offering panoramic views of the coast.
We are removed from the hubbub of the big towns on the coast, so our visitors can enjoy the peace of the countryside - but still be near enough to drive down for a day on the beach or exploring the hills! We couldn't be better placed!
Car hire is recommended - so many lovely places to visit. The villa is 45 minutes easy drive from Nice airport. 30/60 minutes from Cannes/Nice train stations. However, Grasse has an excellent rail link to the coast, with parking, stopping at all stations - Cannes, Juan-les-Pins and on to Monte Carlo.
The climate is of course Mediterranean. This means harsh, hot, dry summers followed by a definite winter period with rain.
Sheltered by the Alps, the Cote d’Azur is the most protected area of the French Mediterranean coast. Frost is unknown at sea level, although it can sometimes be a little fresh in the hills in winter. Summer temperatures are considered rarely to pass 30°C, although temperatures up to 32°C are less unusual than a few years ago.
Winds are generally mild and breezy, with an occasional Mistral.
Average number of days of rain is 63 per annum. Snowfall occurs every year in the mountains between November and May - the nearest ski resort is 1.5 hours away. There is almost no snow on the coast, but here we often have a light sprinkling in February. This year we had more than we expected!
